Noting Hill Carnival

We had to get on a crowded bus at Camden then went onto Notting Hill Carnival. Got off and had no idea where I was but just followed the crowd. Look at it. That is a crowd!

Plenty of carribean food being cooked on the roadside, mmm yum.

If you hate crowds, this was not the place to be. At this stage Nic was on my shoulders, otherwise he would have been trampled or lost.

Okay, some flesh!

Hhhhhmmmmm, you get the idea?

The music at this stage was absolutely pumping, blaring!!!

Nic taking a breather.

Some more colourful dancers.

One dancer taking a break, or is she texting someone?

Eventually we had to make a move, on the way back plenty of food stalls. From here on we had to walk for miles it seemed to find the Holland Park tube.

People just stopped and ate their food on the street and rubbish everywhere. Along the way there were some great DJs pumping out the music. Even Fatboy Slim!

Finally looked back, heaps of people but we could see the tube station in the distance and we had enough of the crowds. Done the carnival, not sure if I would do it again. Posted by Picasa

Wimbledon to Camden

Today, I went to work with Nic and later to the Notting Hill Carnival.

Just around the corner from our place in Wimbledon.

Nic and I went to work for the day, then later in the afternoon we went to the Notting Hill Carnival.

Nic waiting for the train.

Got to Camden and took a few shots. Nice decor on this shopfront.

Another warm day, a boat on the canal.

The famous Camden Lock.

A colourful bag shop in the Camden market.

A boat in the lock...

Busy Camden markets.

The camden canal, my office is just to the left, out of shot.

The Lush bar, just across the road from my office.

Bushy Park, nr Richmond, Surrey

Today we went to Bushy Park, nr Richmond. Lovely summer's day, played cricket, went for a nice walk with great friends.

Tom (our neighbour) and Nic playing cricket. Nice sunny day in Bushy Park, nr Richmond.

Tizzy (Tom's wife), she's Scottish, can you tell?

Michelle and Geoff, our Kiwi friends.

A deer, they roam freely through Bushy Park.

Then we all went for a stroll.

...still strolling...

...are we there yet?...

And we stop for a breather near a small canal where some blokes were catching fish.

And time for some snacks.
