Cornwall Holiday Day 8

On our last day we headed home via a coastal villages called Morwenstow. Some local sheep here.

And the local church.

Our walk towards the nearby cliffs.

A nice shot this one, looking out over the Altantic ocean.

Nice summer day it was.

Rough countryside.

Nic took this shot. I'm glad he didn't ask me to take an extra step back.

Plenty of caterpillars.

Now lets get back in that car for that enjoyable 5 hour drive back to London. Ahhh!!!  Posted by Hello

Cornwall Holiday Day 7

On Thursday we went to another fishing village (yeah, another one) called Port Isaac.

Top location for a quiet life.

Helicopter view of Port Isaac.

Down at ground level amongst the fishing pots.

Nic and Jes having fun on a trolley while Mum and Dad had a relaxing coffee.

Cornwall is covered by these windmills for power generation. Not so common in Australia.

At another beach, we were told this one was a sandy beach but we arrived at high tide so o chance of sand amongst the toes.

The local lifeguards playing backgammon.

The stream was good fun.

This was the local pub/hotel. Beautiful pub atthe ground level here.

Speccy shot by Phillipa.

Cornwall Holiday Day 6

Nic and Jes adored the 2 old english sheepdogs at Honey Meadow. They enjoyed spending time around Mrs Winard, and I think the feeling was mutual.

One of the old english sheepdogs.

Nic and one of the dogs with the sliding door as protection.

Another view of one of the beaches near Bude.

Some local cattle.

Today we also went to the Eden Project. The most visited tourist attraction in the UK. Great value.

Inside one of the biomes, very hunid in here.

Nic pointing out the freckle on my nose, thanks very much!

Another view inside the biome.

The biomes contained plants etc from various areas of the world, this one is from USA.

Some cactus from Mexico.

That looks like a big plum, I think.

Some interesting sculptures.

This sculpture is made up of old electrical euipment and made a point of the throw society that has developed.

I like this photo. Some New Zealand flax in the background.

And I like this photo. One of the biomes in the distance.

This is a new display centre. Posted by Hello

After the Eden Project we went to another fishing village called Poole, located further east on the south coast of Cornwall.

Here's Nic posing with a local Pirate.

We had to climb over the rocks at the local beach.

This place was only ust bigger than a shoebox but was serving fast food, amazing. I could work out where the kitchen was, tucked away somewhere.

On the rocks.

It was a long day, 6 o'clock and fish and chips were beckoning. The local talk was Dave's Diner had the best fish and chips for miles, well at least to the next town.
