Kew Gardens
We went to Kew Gardens today with Wendy and Dave - they are friends of ours from Sydney. Kew Gardens is situated in West London, about 25min drive from where we live (Wimbledon). The weather today was quite warm, about 20C and a bit humid. The sun was shining as well. The gardens are very nice to walk through, a lot more room to move, but our football was confiscated at the front gate ;-(
A local pub/restaurant near Kew Gardens, and luckily we found a secret parking spot!!
Nicholas and Jessica in a nice brother-sister picture. (We had to bribe them). No really they were good kids all day.
Wendy and Dave, great friends they are! Dave is in the IT industry as well so it good to share stories and get some local advice from him.
Me and Phillipa in the tulips.
Wendy and Sophie. Phillipa used to work with Wendy in Sydney and we have stayed in touch.
The family having lunch, which was late about 2pm so hungry mouths to feed. I think people in the UK expect top notch cooked food even in a park, but along with that comes long queues because it just takes a long time to serve cooked food, instead of a simple sandwich.
Nic and Jes with some Morris Dancers. It seems the warm weather brings the Morris Dancers out of the woodwork, as I saw these same guys the previous day in Wimbledon. Don't know what the black faces are all about? Black minstrels?
